Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides
We love Colorado’s wilderness beauty and want to share it in a way that inspires others. By sharing our knowledge and expertise, we hope to open up to you the local wilderness gems. We believe you will have a richer, safer, and more enjoyable experience because of the knowledge you gain on mountain safety, environmental stewardship, and local mountain geography and history.
However, just because we love the mountains (and hope you do, too), we know the mountains don’t always love us. Your safety is our number one priority and everything we do is with safety in mind, from the vehicles we drive, to a regular assessment of the weather/road/trail conditions, to discussing appropriate daily objectives.
We want you to explore the mountains, travel safely, and have experiences that last a lifetime!
As a result of our beliefs and values, described above, we have created a one-stop shop for wilderness guided tours and trips, team building activities, transportation, local outdoor exploration and information, safety training, event planning, and expert advice.
Wow👌 got a guided tour as a wedding present, and we went hiking with Joe OLeary...what an excellent guy! 10/10 would recommend him to anyone wanting an unforgettable hiking experience! 🙌He was the best person to spend the day with ...even brought us lunch and snacks. Couldn't have had a better time! Colorado Wilderness Rides is a Class A place. Definitely will be coming back😀
This is a stand up company run by stand up people. They can equip you for any adventure you have in mind! Bikes, hikes, fishing, river sports just to start. They facilitate adventure! From running large corporate outings, to helping a stranger off the street change a bike tire, they can do it all. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. These aren't just some retired "bros" they really get what the Colorado lifestyle is all about.
CWRAG is an amazing guide service, friends of mine and I had a great morning rock climbing with them in the Boulder valley last weekend. None of us had any real experience with outdoor climbing, but our experienced guides Alex and Jason were fantastic teachers and were patient as we all took our turns at our comfortable paces. They came very prepared, and we all felt very safe under their supervision. We're all looking forward to rock climbing with them again sometime!
I took the avalanche level 1 course with Colorado rides and guides and it was a great experience. CWRG partnered with Outdoor Women's Alliance to help make the course happen for a bunch of ladies in Boulder/Denv. area. It was two classroom nights and two fields days up near East Portal (near Nederland) & in RMNP. Josh, Jill and Zach were all very knowledgeable in the field and provided great insight into the decision making framework. I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in BC skiing in Colorado.
CWRAG facilitated our team-building "retreat" and they did an amazing job and deserve kudos. We were thoroughly impressed with the planning process and "Amazing Race" event we engaged in at Eldorado Canyon State Park. It was a good combination of activities and reflection, was inclusive, and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend and overheard colleagues contemplating using this vendor for future team-building events.
