Boulder - Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides

We love Colorado’s wilderness beauty and want to share it in a way that inspires others. By sharing our knowledge and expertise, we hope to open up to you the local wilderness gems. We believe you will have a richer, safer, and more enjoyable experience because of the knowledge you gain on mountain safety, environmental stewardship, and local mountain geography and history.

However, just because we love the mountains (and hope you do, too), we know the mountains don’t always love us. Your safety is our number one priority and everything we do is with safety in mind, from the vehicles we drive, to a regular assessment of the weather/road/trail conditions, to discussing appropriate daily objectives.

We want you to explore the mountains, travel safely, and have experiences that last a lifetime!

As a result of our beliefs and values, described above, we have created a one-stop shop for wilderness guided tours and trips, team building activities, transportation, local outdoor exploration and information, safety training, event planning, and expert advice.

I had an awesome experience with Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides. I had been back-country skiing for three years prior to taking the class and my only regret was not taking the class sooner. They give you all the tools to confidently plan tours based around your own risk tolerance to make sure you are not missing the important signs to stay safe in the back-country.

We have used Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides a few times over the years to provide scientific excursions to Rocky Mountain National Park for graduate student colloquium participants. The students come from all over the country and the world with various backgrounds in outdoor experience. Every time they come back with rave reviews about the trip. These folks are really serous professionals when it comes to outdoor pursuits. You can't go wrong.

My dad and I could not have asked for a better guide on our first snowshoeing adventure. Jill was very accommodating giving us multiple options for short or longer hikes. With a high avalanche risk on the day of our trip, we were very glad to have our expert guide to keep us safe! I would highly recommend this company to novices and experts alike. Even my dad who has lots of outdoor experience learned some new things!

Josh & Jill were energetic, fun and incredibly knowledgeable course leaders! Not only did I have a blast and meet great folks, but I feel like I'm part of the backcountry family now. I can't wait to get out and tour with both Josh & Jill again! Thank you for such a great experience!
