Mission Statement

"Cache La Poudre Junior High is a school where respect, rigor, relevance, responsibility and relationships drive learning."

Respect means

The highest degree of respect is not earned but assumed upon contact as humans, as parents, as teachers and as students.
Student to student respect and behavior is accepting of everyone for who they are, their property and ideas.
Teacher to student to teacher respect is something that is accumulated and maintained through actions, choices and behaviors.
Teacher to teacher respect is accepting of fellow teachers for who they are, their property and ideas.
Parent to teacher to parent respect realizes that all have unique roles in the education of students and while different have the same end in mind of a strong, capable student who is prepared for his/her future.

Rigor

A challenging curriculum for all students
High expectations for academics and student behavior
Accountability of expectations for students and staff
The opportunity for differentiated instruction in classes for all students
Pre-AP opportunities for all students
Higher order thinking skills

Relevance

Content relates to the present and the future.
Skills are built upon and taught.

The method of delivering the curriculum is itself relevant to 'real' situations and is relevant is all students.
Curriculum is adaptable to a changing world and the needs of students.
