1. Rocky Mountain Half Marathon, Estes Park, CO

The Rocky Mountain Half Marathon is a 13.09-mile out-and-back race throughout the town of Estes Park. Catch stunning views of Estes Park’s incredible mountain scenery as you run passed the town’s most iconic features. Don’t forget to check out Rocky Mountain National Park before or after the race.

2. BolderBOULDER, Boulder, CO

Located in Boulder, the BolderBOULDER is the fifth largest road race in the world. With over 50,000 runners last year, this 10K event set every Memorial Day Weekend takes runners through Boulder’s scenic city. Runners end at the University of Colorado campus at Folsom Field, making for a memorable finish. 

3. Colfax Marathon and Half Marathon, Denver, CO

The Colfax Marathon, a Boston qualifier, is one of the best marathons in Colorado. However, if you are not ready for a full marathon, a half marathon takes place the same weekend as the full marathon. Located in Denver, both the marathon and the half marathon have pretty awesome routes. The Garden of the Gods is a must-visit in Colorado Springs. However, every June, the Garden of the Gods is host to a 10-mile and 5K race. The beautiful red rocks make for an unforgettable background, something that makes this road race truly one-of-a-kind. 

5. Run the Rockies Road Half Marathon and 10K, Frisco, CO

Located in Frisco, this high-elevation race will challenge runners as the route passes through beautiful scenery of the Rockies. Run the Rockies not only has a half marathon but also a 10K. Although not technically a road race, you will still be pounding concrete on the paved recreation trail that is the route.

6. Steamboat Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K, Steamboat Springs, CO

This scenic marathon in Steamboat Springs is known as of the best destination marathons. Start at Hahns Peak and then drop in elevation down to Steamboat’s downtown. The half marathon starts at the halfway point of the marathon’s route. Runners will enjoy snow-capped mountain views from paved country roads. 

7. Denver Rock ā€˜nā€™ Roll Marathon Series, Denver, CO

This energetic marathon series in downtown Denver features a full marathon and a half marathon. Expect an incredible experience as runners are treated with live bands, lots of cheers and a complete block-party vibe. Runners loop through the city and end right in front of the Colorado state capitol building. 

8. Colorado Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K, 10K and Relay, Fort Collins, CO

The Colorado Marathon Series is one of the most scenic marathons in Colorado. Located in Fort Collins, runners start in the foothills of Northern Colorado, running along the Poudre Canyon Highway. The race ends in the cute town of Fort Collins in Old Town Plaza.

9. Into the Wild Running Festival, Keenesburg, CO

This running event supports the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, which is one of the oldest and largest wildlife sanctuaries in the nation. The race helps the sanctuary with operating costs to adequately house and feed 400 exotic animals that call the sanctuary home. The Into the Wild Running Festival has a 5K Fun Run and a 10K and 5K competitive run. The route is entirely on the grounds of the Wild Animal Sanctuary. 

10. Grand Prix Classic 10K and 5K, Colorado Springs, CO

The Grand Prix Classic is comprised of a 5K and 10K run along Pikes Peak Greenway near Colorado Springs. Expect rolling hills on this scenic path as runners run along Monument Creek.
