With over 50,000 runners last year, this 10K event set every Memorial Day Weekend takes runners through Boulder’s scenic city. Although not technically a road race, you will still be pounding concrete on the paved recreation trail that is the route.

Steamboat Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K, Steamboat Springs, CO

This scenic marathon in Steamboat Springs is known as of the best destination marathons. Start at Hahns Peak and then drop in elevation down to Steamboat’s downtown. The half marathon starts at the halfway point of the marathon’s route. Runners will enjoy snow-capped mountain views from paved country roads.

The Colorado Marathon Series is one of the most scenic marathons in Colorado. Located in Fort Collins, runners start in the foothills of Northern Colorado, running along the Poudre Canyon Highway. The race ends in the cute town of Fort Collins in Old Town Plaza.

Into the Wild Running Festival, Keenesburg, CO

This running event supports the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, which is one of the oldest and largest wildlife sanctuaries in the nation. The race helps the sanctuary with operating costs to adequately house and feed 400 exotic animals that call the sanctuary home. The Into the Wild Running Festival has a 5K Fun Run and a 10K and 5K competitive run. The route is entirely on the grounds of the Wild Animal Sanctuary.
