ARTS FESTIVAL

Our hallmark event since 2009.  A multi-week, multi-disciplinary cornucopia of arts performances, exhibitions, classes, camps, conversations and parties.  Spend a day, a weekend, or the entire festival exploring the best of the contemporary arts with us each summer.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Want to catch every performance we have on tap, or only want to take a class?  Whatever your interest and for however long you want to engage with us during the festival, check out the whole schedule and plan a day, weekend, or a whole week.  Dozens of unique events are available for you to participate in each summer.  We thrive on offering intimate opportunities, so be sure to sign up for your favorite events early…before they sell out!

Thomas Trail Hike with Fire Mitigation Advisory Committee

One of two educational hikes led by the Green Mountain Falls Fire Mitigation Advisory Committee. Please pre-preregister for this hike.

Please join the Fire Mitigation Advisory Committee for an educational hike to see examples of fire mitigation performed and in progress.  The hike will include a tour of private property, a Right of Way, and a portion of the mitigated area on Thomas Trail.  There will be numerous stops along the way to discuss fire mitigation best practices, see examples, and learn more about forest health.

Creative play in the outdoors for toddlers and their parents/guardians. This session located at the Farm Stand.

ArtDesk Conversation: Brian Wall & Brenda Biondo

Our first of six conversations featuring the artists of our unveiled visual art installations.

Conversations with nationally acclaimed speakers on a variety of subjects. These hourlong sessions include complimentary lunch and opportunities to dialogue with the conversationalist. Topics range from animal welfare, health, and political issues, to visual and performing arts, and the annual Green Mountain Falls Mayor’s Forum.

ARTDESK CONVERSATIONS ARE FREE AND INCLUDE LUNCH. PLEASE PREREGISTER.

ArtDesk Conversation: Paul Taylor Dance Company

Conversation with our dance company in-residence at the Sallie Bush Community Building.

Theatreworks Free-for-All presents Pericles

Shakespeare for the whole family performed in the beautiful Mountain Road Corner.

Bring a blanket and/or lawn chair and join Theatreworks, a professional theatre company based in Colorado Springs, for a condensed, 75-minute outdoor performance of one of Shakespeare’s classic plays, Pericles. These performances are appropriate for the whole family.

Healing Sound Journey with Judith Piazza

A unique sonic experience within James Turrell's Green Mountain Falls Skyspace

Be embraced by multi-instrumental healing sounds played by the skilled hands of Judith Piazza, as you are bathed in closed-roof light sequences and higher vibrations. Bring a yoga mat, blanket, water, and whatever you need for comfort.

Judith Piazza is a music therapist, sound healer, and explorer of Indigenous sound wisdoms throughout the world. She has been recognized internationally in the field of music therapy and education for her work with people of all ages for the past 40 years.

Evening Performance: Paul Taylor Dance Company

New York-based Paul Taylor Dance Company performs Esplanade and Mercuric Tidings, two innovative works from the Founder's cannon, at the Sallie Bush Community Building.

One of the most iconic and dynamic modern dance ensembles of our time, the Paul Taylor Dance Company has been innovating and transforming the artform of modern dance since 1954. With a history of multidisciplinary collaborations, passionate expression and thrilling athleticism, the Company is known worldwide for its vast repertory, performing work from the Founder’s canon; new works created by some of today’s most engaging and established choreographers; and important historical dance from the 20th and 21st centuries. Dedicated to sharing modern dance with the broadest possible audience, the Company has toured to over 600 cities in 65 countries with performances and a variety of educational programs and engagement offerings.
